Musical Theatre
Gotta sing... Gotta dance!
There is no experience quite like putting on a musical! The Computer School musicals are part of our illustrious After School Program, run by Manhattan Youth, and they continually razzle and dazzle our school community. Past musicals include: Peter and the Starcatcher, James and the Giant Peach, Xanadu, Jr., Seussical, Jr. How to Succeed in Business, Bugsy Malone, Urinetown, Wonderful Town, Beauty and the Beast, and The Wizard of Oz. In March of 2025, our talented students and staff will produce and perform Annie!
CS students who participate in the school musical experience a magic unlike any other. Between the time of signing up for this activity and the public performances, much is learned beyond the script and song lines. This group is a community unto themselves where special bonds are formed and students are able to express themselves in a non-competitive and fun environment. We also offer Theatre Tech, wherein students learn skills of stage and costume design, lighting, sound, and stage management.
Musical Theater students commit to rehearsals from fall into spring on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, culminating with performances in March. Additional rehearsals are often required, of which students and families are notified in advance. More details about the musical theater program, as well as commitment expectations, are provided to those registered.
We'll add photos of the Wizard of Oz shortly!
