ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL

School is in session from 9:00 AM to 3:20 PM. Students are expected to be in attendance for the entirety of each school day, except in cases of illness or other emergencies that require a student to leave early or stay home.

• 6th Grade:
  Please enter through the cafeteria door on West 76th Street between Amsterdam and Columbus.
  Dismissal will be through the door closest to Amsterdam Avenue on West 77th Street.
  
  
• 7th Grade
  Please enter through the doors closest to Columbus on West 77th Street. 
  Dismissal will be through the same doors.
  
  
• 8th Grade
  Please enter through the gate to the yard on Columbus Avenue. 
  Dismissal will be through the doors closest to Columbus on West 77th Street. 
  

Students who arrive after 9:05 AM must enter through the main entrance and report to the main office to sign the late book and get a late pass. Any student arriving to their homeroom later than 9:10 AM will be marked late.

Students wishing to eat school breakfast may enter through the main entrance between 8:30 and 8:55 AM and go directly to the cafeteria.

LEAVING BEFORE THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY

Students should rarely need to leave before the end of the school day. When students leave school early, it is disruptive to the educational process, both for the student and for others. As such, parents should make every effort to minimize the need for students to leave early.

In the event that a student needs to leave the building before the end of the school day, a parent, guardian, or authorized adult must come to the school to pick the student up. Students may NOT leave the school building on their own, even with written permission. No Exceptions!

Students being picked up must sign out in our main office (room 326) before meeting their parent downstairs at the Safety Desk.

It may take time to locate an individual student for a host of reasons, such as schedule modifications, local field trips, lunch/recess, substitute teachers, office emergencies, etc. As such, please allow sufficient time for this process.
