Peer Leadership

The Computer School works hard to develop leadership skills in all of our students.
Each year, a group of 7th grade students is selected to train with our school counselors to serve as peer leaders. After training in 7th grade, 8th grade peer leaders support their classmates and the school in a variety of ways—they help new 6th graders find their way and feel welcomed, they engage 5th grade families touring Computer School, they tutor classmates, facilitate discussion groups for 6th and 7th graders, along with helping out a variety of school events.

Two years ago, we also created a Peer Mediation program, wherein students in all three grades can learn how to mediate conflicts or discomfort between students in a safe, supervised setting.
