8th Grade Discovery

As students enter the 8th grade, they become leaders of the CS community, embarking upon new adventures, delving into their learning experiences, applying to high school, forging new friendships and continuing to grow as flourishing students and citizens. 

In supporting their social and emotional growth, along with their intellectual development, 8th graders begin the year with three key immersive experiences: 

• The Clearwater Sloop on the Hudson River
• Writing Retreat at Columbia University
• Team Building and Challenges at Chelsea Piers

We are continuing to evolve our vision of the 8th grade experience, and we hope that this will be a year that they look back at as pivotal and positive in their self-discovery and education.
